P. Terrence Gaffney (“Terry”) is Of Counsel with Marks, O’Neill, O’Brien, Doherty & Kelly.  Terry is admitted to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Ohio.

Terry graduated from John Carroll University, with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. He worked his way through college as a critical care nursing assistant and law school as a pharmaceutical salesman. He then attended Cleveland State University Marshall School of Law. During law school, he published in the Marshall Environmental law Journal and was a mediator for the City of Cleveland.

Terry has significant first chair trial experience in catastrophic medical malpractice cases, pharmaceutical product liability cases, medical device product liability matters, and toxic torts. His expertise extends to FDA regulatory involving new drug development. He has represented clients before the United States Congress involving dietary supplements and is often consulted regarding FDA Warning letters. His first chair trial experience in medical malpractice has included: birth injuries, anesthesia complications, failure to diagnose cancer, orthopedic matters, complex hematology issues, surgical complication, pulmonary embolism, vascular surgery, nursing negligence, and myriad other issues.

At Mark’s O’Neill, Terry focuses on Professional Liability, Toxic Tort, Mass Tort, Environmental and Products Liability matters. 

Outside of work, Terry enjoys traveling, competitive cycling, horseback riding, middle school catholic catechist, and enjoying his four children.
