
Joseph J. McAlee is Of Counsel with Marks, O’Neill, O’Brien, Doherty & Kelly. He is admitted to practice in the State of Pennsylvania, State of New Jersey, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Joe graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting and a Minor in English. He then attended Temple University Law School where he received an Award for Distinguished Classroom Performance in Introduction to Trial Advocacy, as well as an Award for Best Paper (Tie) in Political and Civil Rights. Joe returned to Temple University Law School to receive his LL.M. in Taxation.
During his over 35 years of practice, Joe has worked for civil defense firms and as Staff Counsel. He has represented clients in complex tort and commercial matters, in the areas of employment law, civil rights, and ad valorem tax assessment appeals, as well as areas of personal injury defense litigation. With respect to personal injury defense litigation, Joe’s areas of practice include, construction accidents, premises liability, landlord liability, negligent security, products liability, and motor vehicle accident cases. For many years, he also represented rail carriers in employee suits under the Federal Employer’s Liability Act, and its related statutes, the Federal Safety Appliance Act and the Federal Locomotive Inspection Act. Joe also has experience defending cases under the Sovereign Immunity Act and the Political Subdivision Tort Claims Act.
At Mark’s O’Neill, Joseph brings his experience to the firm’s Casualty, Employment Law, Construction Accident and Construction Defect, Professional Liability and Casualty groups.
Outside of work, Joe enjoys traveling with his family, playing his bass guitar and Crossfitting.
