Mary M. Labaree is Of Counsel with Marks, O’Neill, O’Brien, Doherty & Kelly. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Mary graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. In addition, she completed a Master of Business Administration and then attended Temple University’s Law School while an Assistant Vice President with the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. She graduated in 1996, after receiving several awards for her writing. While in law school, she interned at the Office of the United States Attorney in Philadelphia, participating in the preparation for trial of a U.S. congressman under RICO.
While with the Federal Reserve Bank, after working in economic research, she was actively involved in the Federal Reserve System’s national strategic planning efforts. She was selected to work on a joint effort with the U.S. Treasury Department on the development of a nationwide electronic account system for the U.S. Treasury Securities. All previously paper-based processes were computerized from the U.S. Treasury auctions to payments on T-Bills, Notes and Bonds.
After law school and prior to joining the Marks O’Neill, Mary litigated cases from federal civil rights violations to medical malpractice, including mental health.
Since joining in 2011, Mary has continued her focus on federal civil rights and medical malpractice. She regularly serves as an arbitrator with the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. She has been involved with the National Business Institute (NBI) and has participated in speaking engagements for insurance carriers regarding trends in medical malpractice and physician assistant students.
Formerly from Fern Rock, Mary now lives in East Falls with her husband, a Chocolate Lab, a Golden Retriever and three cats. On weekends, she can be seen walking on Kelly and Forbidden Drives or toiling in her garden.
