Sofian Kherdeen is an Associate with Marks, O’Neill, O’Brien, Doherty & Kelly. He is admitted to practice in the state of Maryland.

Sofian graduated from University of Maryland Baltimore County (“UMBC”) with a bachelor’s degree in political science. At UMBC, Sofian demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence, and various positions in the community. Sofian participated in the Arab Student Union as an executive board member, participated on the Club Soccer team, and participated in the African Student Union as a general body member. After graduation, Sofian worked in two different law firms in D.C. before deciding to go to law school himself. Sofian next attended the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. During law school, he participated in the Black Law Students Association Alternate Dispute Resolution Team, winning second place in the 2024 edition of the Nelson Mandela International Negotiation Competition. Sofian was a Leadership Scholar – Charles Roberts Thomas Scholar, won the Maryland Law Scholars Award, was a LEAP Scholar, a Peer Advisor, and was on the Advanced Dispute Resolution Track.

During law school, Sofian gained practical experience as a Rule 19 Student Attorney in the Immigration Clinic. Sofian guided clients through the citizenship/visa process and helped his clients develop their cases and file their paperwork. Prior to being an associate at Marks O’Neill, Sofian worked at Marks O’Neill as a Summer Associate and later as a law clerk.

Since joining Marks O’Neill, Sofian brings his experience to the Casualty, Healthcare, Professional Liability, Construction and Transportation practice groups.

Outside of work, Sofian enjoys watching sports and playing Soccer, spending time with his family and reading.
