Suehail M. Perez is an Associate at Marks, O’Neill, O’Brien, Doherty & Kelly. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey.

Suehail graduated magna cum laude from College of Saint Elizabeth with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Spanish. She attended Rutgers School of Law where she served as the President of ALIANZA. She won the Respondent Best Brief Award in the National Latino Moot Court Competition and served as the Region III President of the Hispanic National Bar Association (Law Student Division).

During law school, she began her work in litigation by participating in the Children’s Justice Clinic where she advocated vigorously for her clients. She was one of two students chosen to participate in the advanced clinic due to her natural litigation skills.

Suehail served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Pedro J. Jimenez, Jr., J.S.C., of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Mercer County Criminal Division. During her clerkship she drafted court opinions and bench memoranda recommending the disposition of cases. She also served as a mediator in the Civil Division in Landlord Tenant matters.

Prior to joining Marks O’Neill, Suehail was a dedicated Public Defender in New Jersey where she represented thousands of defendants and juveniles within the criminal justice system. She is an accomplished attorney with over a decade of experience in high-stakes criminal litigation and a steadfast commitment to client-centered advocacy. Her practice spans the full spectrum of litigation, from initial detention hearings and complex evidentiary challenges to bench trials and strategic oral advocacy. Suehail is a first-generation college graduate and attorney who is fluent in Spanish.

At Marks O’Neill, Suehail brings her extensive experience to the Casualty, Construction and Transportation practice groups.

Outside of work she enjoys cooking, traveling and spending quality time with her family.
