Thomas Ledwith is an Of Counsel with Marks, O’Neill, O’Brien, Doherty & Kelly. Thomas is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.
Thomas graduated from Wagner College in 1986, with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Thomas attended Widener University School of Law – Delaware, graduating in 1998, cum laude.
During law school, Thomas was selected to be a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and was named a Widener Scholar as an academic scholarship recipient graduating in the top seven percent of his class.
Prior to joining Marks O’Neill, Thomas had extensive defense litigation experience, most recently focusing on health care, representing domestic, UK and Bermuda based insurers and reinsurers underwriting hospitals, physician, allied health and long-term care programs. He has counseled insurers on coverage and exposure and provided claims monitoring and litigation management. Additionally, Thomas has significant experience in professional liability claims involving lawyers, accountants, and directors and officers, and served as claims and monitoring counsel to the Bermuda captive of one of the world’s largest accounting and professional service firms. Thomas counseled the captive on claims and litigation pending in North and South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and practiced in public accounting for over thirteen years before beginning his law career as a litigator.
Since joining Marks O’Neill, Thomas has represented clients in general litigation, premises liability and transportation, professional liability, construction accident and defect, coverage and professional liability matters.
Outside of work, Thomas enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, as well as reading, volunteering, and doing outdoor activities.
