Nakea J. Barksdale is an Associate with Marks, O’Neill, O’Brien, Doherty & Kelly’s New Jersey office. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and is a member of the National Bar Association, Garden State Bar Association, and New Jersey State Bar Association.
Nakea graduated from Rutgers University in 2016, with a joint bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science. She then attended Rutgers Law School, graduating in 2020. During law school, she served as President of the Women’s Law Caucus, competed in the prestigious Constance Baker Motley Mock Trial Competition, and participated in Rutgers’ Race & the Law Review.
Prior to joining Marks O’Neill, Nakea handled criminal appeals at the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender, where she gained extensive experience conducting legal research, writing briefs and motions, and arguing cases before the Appellate Division.
Outside of work, Nakea enjoys music, community service and traveling.
