Maya Dolby is an Associate with Marks, O’Neill, O’Brien, Doherty & Kelly. She is admitted to practice in Maryland. 

Maya graduated cum laude from Bowie State University in 2016, with a bachelor’s  degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Management. She attended the University of Baltimore School of Law,  graduating cum laude in 2020. During law school, she served as the member liaison for the University of Baltimore Moot Court Board. She also participated on the Frederick Douglass Moot Court team where she competed in both Regional and National competitions. Throughout her participation on the Moot Court team Maya received several first place awards, including an award for Best Oral Advocate and Best Petitioner’s brief.

During law school, Maya served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Paula Xinis on the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, and served as a law clerk for a very busy downtown Baltimore civil litigation firm. Additionally, Maya served as a Rule 19 Student Attorney for the Innocence Project Clinic where she advocated for the wrongfully incarcerated.

Prior to joining Marks O’Neill, Maya served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Shirley M. Watts on the Maryland Court of Appeals. Following her clerkship, Maya served as an Assistant State’s Attorney for the State’s Attorney Office for Prince George’s County. As a prosecutor, Maya litigated an array of criminal matters in District Court.

Since joining Marks O’Neill in 2022, Maya has focused her practice on defending  professionals against claims of malpractice, as well as defending employers in claims arising from  wrongful termination, retaliation and discrimination.  Maya also handles general liability claims, including premises liability and motor vehicle cases.

Outside of work, Maya enjoys traveling, visiting new restaurants, and spending quality time with close family and friends.
