Matthew E. O’Brien is an Associate with Marks, O’Neill, O’Brien, Doherty & Kelly’s Philadelphia office. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.
Matt graduated from The Catholic University of America in 2016, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He graduated, cum laude, from Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law in 2019, where he was a recipient of the CALI Award of Excellence in Medical Malpractice Law.
While in law school, Matt acquired critical practical experience outside of the classroom. He served as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Arnold New of the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas and served as a summer law clerk for Marks, O’Neill, O’Brien, Doherty & Kelly, P.C.’s Philadelphia office. He also served as a law clerk for a personal injury firm, where he assisted with medical malpractice cases by drafting discovery and pleadings, and conducting complex legal research.
Since joining Marks O’Neill in 2019, Matt has represented physicians and other healthcare providers, including, hospitals, health systems, long-term care facilities, and behavioral health facilities in malpractice actions. He focuses his practice in medical and professional malpractice.
Away from work, Matt enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing golf, and rooting for all Philadelphia sports teams.
