Alex Fermoso is an Associate with Marks, O’Neill, O’Brien, Doherty & Kelly‘s New York City office. He is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey State Courts, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the District of New Jersey, Southern District of New York and Eastern District of New York. He is also a member of the Defense Association of New York.
Alex graduated from Hunter College in 2012, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He attended New York Law School, graduating cum laude in 2015. During law school, he was a member of the Center for Business and Financial Law and Center for International Law. He was also a member of the Securities Arbitration Clinic, where he successfully represented an investor in claims against a broker/dealer before FINRA.
During law school, Alex served as a judicial extern for Justice Martin M. Solomon in Supreme Court, Kings County. There, he gained in-depth experience in civil court procedure and practice.
Prior to joining Marks, O’Neill, Alex served as an associate attorney at a civil defense firm, where he successfully obtained several favorable decisions dismissing claims at the discovery phase, which avoided costly dispositive motion practice and trial.
Since joining Marks O’Neill, Alex has defended clients in general liability and construction accident claims. He focuses his practice in civil defense and New York Labor Law. He has extensive experience with all aspects of litigation from inception to pre-trial.
