Mike Sobiecki is an Associate with Marks, O’Neill, O’Brien, Doherty & Kelly. He is admitted to practice in Maryland.
Mike graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, and he earned his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law. During law school, he served as an editor on the Law Forum and as a member of the National Taxation Moot Court Team.
Prior to joining Marks O’Neill, Mike worked at the Board of Veterans’ Appeals, Department of Veterans Affairs. He drafted written decisions on claims for veterans’ benefits, created and delivered trainings to the legal staff, served as the subject matter expert in inter-agency projects, and authored memoranda on complex or niche areas of the law as part of the Office of the Chief Counsel. Most recently, Mike was a Supervisory Senior Counsel, responsible for supervising and mentoring new attorneys and adjudicating appeals for veterans’ benefits as an acting judge.
At Marks O’Neill, Mike brings his experience to the Casualty, Healthcare, Professional Liability, Construction and Transportation practice groups.
Outside of work, Mike enjoys spending time with his family, running, and attending concerts.
