Shannon B. Adamson is an Associate with Marks, O’Neill, O’Brien, Doherty & Kelly’s New Jersey office. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey.
Shannon graduated from McGill University in 2004, with a Bachelor of Arts with high honors. She then attended Drake University Law School, graduating in 2007. During law school, Shannon was a member of the Drake Law Review, the ABA Moot Court Team and was an officer of the International Law Society. Also during law school she served a semester in the Elder Law Clinic and was a law clerk for the Iowa Attorney General’s Office – Tobacco Division. Through these opportunities she gained valuable experience conducting in-depth factual and legal research and in working with clients on often delicate issues. Immediately upon graduating from law school, Shannon was a judicial clerk to the Honorable Edward Coleman, P.J.S.Cr.(Ret.). Following her clerkship, Shannon went to practice at a defense litigation firm where she specialized in pre-trial, medical malpractice litigation particularly factual and expert depositions.
Prior to and since joining Marks O’Neill in 2017, Shannon has represented clients in numerous professional malpractice actions. She focuses her practice on the defense of various healthcare professionals including physicians, mid-level providers, nurses and healthcare entities. She has extensive experience conducting factual and expert depositions and in preparing clients for their depositions and trial testimony. She is also an experienced brief writer and has authored multiple briefs for the Appellate Division and the New Jersey Supreme Court.
