Joseph E. Brenner is an associate attorney with Marks, O’Neill, O’Brien, Doherty & Kelly, P.C.’s Philadelphia office. He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and Philadelphia Bar Association.
Joe graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 2014 with degrees in History and Political Science. Joe went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, from which he graduated in 2017. While in law school, Joe was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity. Additionally, Joe served as the Lead Research Editor of the Pittsburgh Journal of Technology Law and Policy, a position in which he was charged with responsibility for all citations and research published in the Journal. Further, during law school Joe authored the article “Paying the Pied Piper: An Examination of Internet Service Provider Liability for Third Party Speech,” 16 Pitt. J. Tech. L. & Pol’y 155 (2016).
During law school, Joe interned with the Honorable Lisa M. Rau of the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia and served as a summer associate in the Insurance Defense group at a mid-size Philadelphia law firm. In these positions, Joe gained copious experience with Insurance Bad Faith and Coverage, Personal Injury, Breach of Contract and other complex litigation matters.
Since joining Marks O’Neill in 2017, Joe has represented clients in Professional Liability, Insurance Coverage and Appellate litigation matters. He focuses his practice in Professional Liability, Insurance, Complex Litigation and Appellate matters with a particular interest in Constitutional Law and Civil Procedure.
Outside of work, Joe is an avid reader, movie enthusiast and sports fan who enjoys all Philadelphia sports and cheering for any and all Penn State sports teams. If not at work, you will probably find Joe playing with his Goldendoodle, Auggie.
