Brett T. Norton is an Associate with Marks, O’Neill, O’Brien, Doherty & Kelly’s Delaware office. He is admitted to practice in the State of Delaware. He is a member of the Delaware State Bar Association.
Brett graduated from Temple University in 2002 with a bachelor of arts degree. He attended Widener University School of Law and graduated magna cum laude in 2010. During law school, he was on the Administrative Board of the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law and was an Articles Editor. He was also a member of the Moot Court Honors Society. During law school, Brett interned with now President Judge Pamela Pryor Dembe of the Common Pleas Court in Philadelphia. There, he gained experience in trial procedure and opinion drafting. Brett also interned at the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office, where he gained experience in trial advocacy by conducting numerous hearings and assisted Assistant District Attorneys in drafting legal briefs. During law school, Brett was awarded a Wolcott Fellowship and interned for Chief Justice Myron Steele, formerly of the Supreme Court of Delaware. There, he gained experience in appellate advocacy and opinion drafting.
Since joining Marks O’Neill in 2010, Brett has represented clients in professional liability matters. He focuses his practice in medical, healthcare and skilled nursing litigation. He has extensive experience with representing medical professionals. Brett has represented individuals and institutional defendants to include hospitals, group practices, freestanding surgi-centers, nursing homes, home healthcare providers and outpatient facilities.
He enjoys spending time with his wife and dogs and going to the Central YMCA. He is an active volunteer at his church. Brett previously served active duty in the United States Army and deployed to Iraq.
